19th anniversary of the 1988 massacre
Aug 28th, 2007 by City boy

Khavaran - a graveyard where thousands are buried,
in unmarked mass graves.
In the summer of 1988, 7 years after the last mass execution, an unknown number of Iranian political prisoners were martyred by the direct order of the Supreme leader Khomeini.
The estimates are as high as 30,000.
The young girls were raped before execution,
so they would not go to heaven.
A crime against humanity
Not martyrs of Islam
Not martyrs of Imam Hossein
Not martyrs of Khomeini
Martyrs of freedom.
We shall never forget.

Wonderful tribute. Did you know that the regime has threatned the families of these victims not to attend the anniversary of their death?

So many of them were just kids and teenagers. They wanted nothing other than a better life for the people of Iran. They were murdered and the world stood silent. We should never let this happen again.
Khavaran will be a memorial to the courage of those who did not bow to the ragheads who claim they represent God on earth.
I have friends who lost their fathers or mothers in this massacre. My mom’s cousin was also one of them. He was arrested 1981 and executed 1988. The lesson these people thought us was no matter how hard the situation is, no matter how much the pressure, you can and must keep on fighting, ’cause you have a responsibility.
