Harasat office has been closed!

Because of violence against the students,
the harasat office
has been closed by the students!
Allameh University, Tehran
It looks like the students at Allameh university have had enough of the violence used by the harasat forces in their university!
Harasat forces are yet another unofficial police force present on university campuses across Iran. They are present at university gates and are responsible for checking who can enter the university, they often stop women with “bad hejab” and/or make up, men with short sleeve shirts (shame on those westernised students!) and if a boy and a girl seem to be going to university together, they check to make sure there is no (God forbid) relationship between them, unless they are family members or married, of course.
In a number of cases in the last month Harasat forces together with Basiji students (those that enter university based on their membership in the revolutionary guards corps) have been violently attacking student activists at both politically active universities in Tehran, the Amir Kabir and Allameh University.

Salam Cityboy,
I have a question if you don’t mind… who makes up these unofficial student vice-police guys? are they students too? youths? They’re probably only men right? or do they also have women? And why do they do what they do? I mean, are they paid well and don’t care about their people so they go and do whatever?
kheili mamnoon!
The university finds it easier just to leave it to harasat to do their dirty work, they are kind of the security force on campus but as you can imagine with a moral police they exercise full force against those who “cross the lines” and they usually get their orders straight from the president of the university. They often work together with Basiji “students”.
It’s a bit like everything else in Iran. A stupid joke.
