The ISA student activist body elections came to an end yesterday with more interruptions from the university security officers who banned even the ISA’s Secretary Tabatabi from entering the university and stopped a planned press conference from taking place on the campus regarding the elections.

Yesterday also the university security officers lead by a man named Etemadzadeh attacked the girl’s halls of residence again, and without the permission from the student union broke the door of the campus open and searched for any ballot boxes that they believed may have been hidden there.

However after all the trouble, the votes of the election were revealed today, with total votes of 1926 from 5 ballot boxes. The candidates with the most significant votes for the new ISA Council committee are:

Majid Tavakolli - 1188 votes
Arman Sedaghatai - 1068 votes
Nariman Mastafavi - 924 votes
Majid Sheikhpur - 914 votes
Sajjad veys-marad - 828 votes
Mahyar Abadolsamadi - 576 votes

Ali Asfar Sebehri - 545 votes
Majtabi Kalantari - 460 votes

There were also more arrests of newspaper editors and student activists. The editor in chief of Rivar and Sarkhat student newspapers at Tehran Amir Kabir University, Puyan Mahmudian, Majid Sheikhpur along with Majid Tavakoli a committee member of the ISA the student activist body, have all been arrested by orders of the Revolutionary Court and taken to the Evin prison.

Ali-Asghar Sepehri, the editor of Iran-e Ma (Our Iran) another student publication at AKU which has been banned, reported that yesterday morning they were all taken to court and seen by the judge which then sent them all straight to Evin prison.

So far all four student publications at AKU have been banned by the university and also there are seven students currently held in prison: Keyvan Ansari, Babak Zamanian, Ahmad Ghasaban, Maghdad Khalilpur, Puyan Mahmudian, Majid Sheikhpur and Majid Tavakolli.

This is while Haddad Adel, the Chief of Security at Tehran Prosecution Service (whose daughter is married to the Supreme Leader’s son), has made an statement regarding the case of Amir Kabir University student publications, in which he announced that there is an ongoing investigation but he believes that the editors of the newspapers are liars and they did in fact print what they claim as fake copies of their papers!

In support for the publications, Anjoman-e Senfi (National Student Union) has condemned the banning of the student publications by calling the act illegal.
